Sharilyn Seter

Sharilyn (and twin sister Marilyn) were born to Alphai and Pearl (Trost) Moser on November 20, 1954. Shar attended Morris High School and graduated in 1972. She received her BS degree in Interior Design from Mankato State University in 1975. On October 27, 1985, Shar married Terry Seter, following the 50^th anniversary celebration of Terry’s parents, Lloyd and Violet Seter. They farmed in Lake Park, MN and Shar continued working as an interior designer. After eleven years in the interior design business, Shar changed careers and raised sheep for 4 years. In 1988, God brought a teen-ager, Eileen Aljo, to live with Terry and Shar, and she became their God-given daughter. In 1990 Shar began working as a sales rep for various furniture companies, including: Kirsch Fabrics, Simmon’s Bedding, La-Z-Boy, Broyhill and Homecrest. Design was her passion and she thoroughly enjoyed it. In 2010, Shar learned she had stage-4 breast cancer. She was forced to end her career in 2012, after the chemotherapy disabled her. Throughout her long courageous battle with cancer, Shar faced each day with optimism and gratitude. It was her strong faith that sustained her through all the difficulties and she never lost hope.

Shar is survived by her loving husband, Terry Seter; her God-given daughter and granddaughter, Eileen (Kerry) Granfield, Genevieve Granfield; sister Lois (Keith) Schmidgall, twin-sister Marilyn (Jerry) Halseth, and brothers Gary (Doreen) Moser, Myron (Marlene) Moser, Doug (the late Dawn) Moser; brother and sister-in laws, Lloyd (Jeanene) Seter, Karen (Ron) Offutt, John (Linda) Seter; and foster brother Dan (Laurel) Cottrell. Additionally, she is survived by many nieces and nephews, great, and great-great nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, Alphai and Pearl Moser; her mother-in-law and father-in-law, Lloyd and Violet Seter, her sister-in-law Dawn Moser and brother-in-law Larry Brandt.

Visitation: Wednesday, December 18, from 5:00 – 7:00 pm, followed by a prayer service at 7:00 pm, in Wright Funeral Home, Moorhead, MN.

Funeral: Thursday, December 19, at 11:00 am, in Olivet Lutheran Church, Fargo, ND.

Interment: Riverside Cemetery, Glyndon, MN, at a later date.
