Sharon J. Ahrens

Sharon Ahrens passed away on December 23, 2024. Sharon was born to Ernest and Dawn (Moore) Rootham on April 14, 1940, in Glyndon, MN. Sharon grew up and attended school in Glyndon. She married Gerald Gregor in July of 1958. Of that marriage two children were born, Dennis Gregor and Denise (Gregor) Elvecrog. That marriage ended in 1980. Sharon married Curt Ahrens in 1981.

Sharon was a foster parent and later babysat until her children went to school. After that she worked as a secretary for Fargo Clinic and NDSU. 

Sharon enjoyed time at the lake, reading, doing crafts and the love of animals. She lived in Moorhead, MN until just recently when she moved to an apartment in Fargo. She always made many friends along the way. You could always count on a bowl of candy on the table and coffee on or ready to go whenever you stopped by. 

Sharon is survived by two children, Dennis (friend Laurie Meide) Gregor of Fargo, ND and Denise (Jeff) Elvecrog of Sioux Falls, SD; 3 grandchildren; sister-in-law, Andrea Rootham of Moorhead, MN, nieces and nephews and special cousin, Warren (Diane) Moore.

She was preceded in death by her husband Curt, her parents, and her brother, John Rootham.

A memorial service will be held Monday, January 6, 2025, at 11:00 A.M., with visitation for one hour before the service, at Wright Funeral Home in Moorhead, MN.  Interment will be at Riverside Cemetery, Glyndon, MN, in the spring.
