Sharon Peterson

Sharon Peterson, 67, of Hawley, MN, died Tuesday, November 11, 2014, in Sanford Health, Fargo, ND.
Sharon was born October 15, 1947 in Moorhead, MN, to Lloyd and Gudrun Folden Halvorson, Sr. She grew up and attended school in Moorhead, Hawley and Hitterdal, MN. Sharon was married to Bernard Bates and later they divorced. She worked various jobs in the Moorhead and Hawley area all of her life, retiring from American Crystal Sugar after twelve years of employment. Sharon was married to Arvid Peterson and they later divorced.

Sharon loved flower gardening, visiting the mountains, reading, thrifting and spending time outdoors. Most of all she enjoyed spending time with her family.

She was preceded in death by her parents, three sisters, Betty, Mary and Dawn; and two brothers, Robert and Donald.

Sharon is survived by her companion of twenty years, Darrell Haverkamp of Hawley, MN; one son, Alex Desja Peterson of Moorhead, MN; three daughters, Catherine Bates of Hawley, MN, Christine Bates of St. Cloud, MN, and Jessica Peterson of Hitterdal, MN; three brothers, Lloyd Halvorson, Jr. of Hawley, MN, Ronald Halvorson of Hitterdal, MN, and Duwayne Sheryl Halvorson of Hitterdal, MN; six grandchildren, Kharma, Willow, Nathan, Amber, Allie and Matthew; and four great-grandchildren, Rayna, Christopher, Carter and Ceinna.

She will be remembered for her laughter and making us smile.
