Sheila Bohn Klosterman

November 15, 1962 — December 25, 2019

Sheila Bohn Klosterman, 57, of Fargo, ND, passed away on December 25, 2019, in Steele, ND. Sheila was born on November 15, 1962, to Milton and Laverne (Rogge) Bohn, in Breckenridge, MN.

Sheila was raised and attended school in Great Bend, ND, and graduated from Wahpeton High School, Wahpeton, ND. She attended MSUM in Moorhead, MN, where she graduated with a degree in Special Education. She was united in marriage to Bruce Klosterman on July 20, 1985, and together they had two sons, Grant and Zachary. Sheila taught in Wahpeton and in the West Fargo School District. She worked in early childhood development at Head Start in Fargo where she was known as the “baby whisperer”.

Sheila met John Benshoof in 2007 and they got engaged on Friday, November 29, 2019. They loved to go on many ice fishing trips to Lake of the Woods and their camping trips to Rainy Lake in the summer. They loved going to concerts together, to Bison games (especially to Frisco for the championship games) and just spending time together in front of their fireplace on cold winter nights.

Sheila carried herself with tremendous poise and grace, especially within large groups. She had a big heart and was willing to take anyone in and give them a place to stay for as long as they needed. She had commonsense wisdom and was a great guide in life. She had a passion for reading and always had a book in her hand. She loved to cook, especially for a house full of people. Her specialties were chili and BBQ’s. She was an avid softball player for many years. She loved sports, especially Bison football, and followed Vikings, Twins, and the Wild. She never missed a sporting event of her sons; she was a proud hockey mom. She loved attending her nieces and nephews’ games as well.

Sheila will be deeply missed by her fiancé, John Benshoof; sons, Grant Klosterman and Zachary Klosterman; sisters, LaRae (Gary) Odegard, Bonnie (John) Hauschild, Carol (Josh) Evans, and Becky (Merlyn) Pausch; sister-in-law, Charlyne LaVoie; John’s children, Erin (Chase) Dewitz, Andrew Benshoof, and Sarah Benshoof; John’s grandchildren, Easten, Kenedee, Clinch, and Mcoy; her black lab, Kota; many nieces, nephews, and other loving relatives and friends. She is preceded in death by her parents, Milton and Laverne; brother, David; brother-in-law, Steve Fenske; and her faithful collie, Maggie.

Visitation will be from noon to 2:00 P.M., followed by the funeral service at 2:00 P.M., on Thursday, January 2, 2020, at Hope Lutheran Church, South Campus, Fargo, ND. Burial will be at 1:00 P.M. on Friday, January 3, 2020, at Trinity Lutheran Church Cemetery, Great Bend, ND.
