Shelby E. Somerville

Shelby Elliot Somerville, 25, of Lake Park, MN, passed away after being struck in a pedestrian/vehicle accident on Friday, November 30, 2012, in Sanford Health, Fargo, ND moments after his 25th birthday.Shelby was born during the first snowfall on November 29, 1987, to Jeffrey Somerville and Kimberly Holloway-Somerville, in St. Mary's Hospital, Minneapolis, Minnesota. He grew up in Lake Park, MN and attended school at Lake Park-Audubon. To say that Shelby had a charismatic and outgoing personality would be an enormous understatement. His fervor for life and people defined who he was. He is best known for his ability to leave someone with a happy heart no matter what the circumstance. He believed everyone had a story and his part in it was to be the carefree song. He enjoyed dirt biking, hunting, snowboarding, and was exceptionally creative. He had a passion for all artistic expressions especially music and painting. Shelby was rarely without a drum on his back, guitar in his lap or paint in his hands. He used his creative ability to bring love, laughter and happy tears to all he met. Shelby loved all his family dearly, but adored his sisters, Laicy, Molley and Aubrey. He was fiercely protective of them and they were always his compass home. Anyone who knew him, knew this. Shelby is survived by his parents, Kimberly Holloway-Somerville and Jeff Somerville; sisters, Laicy Somerville, Molley Somerville and Aubrey Somerville; grandparents, Keith Somerville, Bev Somerville, Connie Alex Kossick and Ron Jeffney Davis, great-grandmother, Adeline Murphy; aunts, Steffanie Davis, Stephanie Hartog; uncles, Brian Somerville, Trey Griffin; and cousins, Brendan Hendricks, Alexis Griffin, and Avaleigh Griffin.He was preceded in death by his great-grandparents, James Murphy, Harold and Norva Somerville, Milt and Alice Davis, Irvin and Mable Knutson-Kliner; and great great-grandmother, Mabel Tengwall.
