Sherita J. “Sherry” Bultema

Sherita Jo Cameron-Bultema, Sabin, MN, 72, passed away on the morning of Tuesday, January 24th, 2023, with family by her side.

She was born in Belvidere, Illinois on October 28th, 1950, to Billy Jo Cameron and Bonnie Jean Cameron. Sherry grew up in Belvidere with her younger siblings. She had many friends in high school.

She met and married Dan Kakac in 1969 and had two sons, Jason and Chad. They lived in Sabin, MN where Sherry owned and cooked at the Sabin Café. Many knew her through her home-cooked style meals and farmer’s breakfasts.

Later in life, Sherry moved to Wimbledon, ND where she met and married Milton Bultema. She worked in healthcare and lived in Wimbledon until Milt’s passing.

In 2002 Sherry found companionship in Allen Liedberg and they made a home at the Liedberg Farmstead.

Everyone who knew Sherry felt her big heart and giving nature. She was so loving, intelligent, beautiful, adventurous, and hilarious. She is deeply missed especially by her’s and Allen’s grandchildren, with whom she spent countless hours baking treats, cooking for family gatherings, Swedish pancakes for the grandchildren, listening to sports and activities stories, squeezing and hugging them every chance she got. Sherry enjoyed attending family reunions, watching the grandchildren’s dance recitals, band concerts, sports games and various activities they were involved in, that she could cheer them on. She often told the grandchildren “I could eat you up” and make them giggle.

Sherry also enjoyed motorcycle rides with Al and spending time with family. She often spoke about the four-week trip her and Al took on the motorcycle through the Blue Ridge Mountains, to Gettysburg. They camped for days at a time, enjoying the beauty of nature, history, and each other. She always wanted to take that trip again.

Sherry was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church in Sabin, MN.

Sherry is survived by her loving partner and companion of 21 years, Allen Kent Liedberg, her mother, her sons Jason Kakac (Aaron) and their children Bee, Ian, Tony, Andy, Jimmy, and Jesse; Chad Kakac (Jenette) and their children Cameron and Kassey; Allen’s sons Jesse Liedberg (Heather) and their children Conner, Ellisabeth “Ellie”, and Kaden “Bubba”; Jason Liedberg (Jana) and their daughter Hattie; and daughter Jolene Bonebrake (Cory) and their son Aiden; Her siblings, Cindy, Jeff, and Doug. Sherry was preceded in death by her father, husband Milt Bultema, and countless other loved ones.

A private memorial will be held with family.

The family would like to thank the ER, Cardiac ICU and Hospice teams at Sanford Medical Center for their compassionate care during Sherry’s short stay. We also thank all of the family and friends for their support and prayers over the past year, in making her feel very loved.
