Sherwood Johnson

Sherwood Johnson, 63, Hawley, MN, died on Wednesday, May 12, 2010, in Fairview University Hospital, Minneapolis, MN.Sherwood was born on September 30, 1946, in Detroit Lakes, MN, to Earl and Palma Stensgaard Johnson. He grew up and attended school in Hawley, MN, graduating from Hawley High School in 1964. He worked at Don's Car Wash in Fargo, ND, and then served in the U. S. Army in Vietnam from 1965 until 1968. Sherwood married Ruth Dahl on November 21, 1970, at Salem Lutheran Church in Hitterdal, MN. He attended Dakota Business College in Fargo and worked at Booth Fisheries, Fargo, Wheel Service, Fargo and finally Thurlow Welding, Fargo, until retiring due to health in 1995. Sherwood loved fishing, bird watching, and he enjoyed little kids. He loved spending time with his son and granddaughter, Maddy. Sherwood is survived by his wife, Ruth Johnson, Hawley, MN; son, Allan Johnson, Hawley, MN; father-in-law, Ervin Dahl, Downer, MN; brothers-in-law, Ken Kay Dahl, Hawley, MN, and Jim Bobbi Dahl, Downer, MN; sisters-in-law, Diane Jim Walker, Lake Park, MN, and Kari Doug Walker, Hamilton, Montana; granddaughter, Madelyn Rosing; and several nieces, nephews and cousins.
