Shirley A. Lura

Shirley Ann Lura, 89, of Hawley, MN, died Wednesday, March 7, 2018, at Hawley Senior Living, Hawley, MN.

Shirley Ann Barry was born November 19, 1928 to Irwin and Annie (Alm) Barry at their home in Elkton Township at Downer, MN. She graduated from Barnesville High School in 1946. Shirley worked as an assistant to Dr. S.B. Seitz from 1946 to 1948. She was married to Chester Lura on June 24, 1948. Following their marriage they lived in Moorhead for two years, where she was employed by the PMA. They moved to their farm at Rollag, MN in 1950. Chester died May 15, 2003.  Shirley was a member of Rollag Lutheran Church and Rollag ALCW. Shirley spent her last two years at Hawley Senior Living.

Shirley was preceded in death by her sister, Etta, and four brothers, Glenn, Dale, Neil and Robert.

She is survived by three children, Barry (Betty) Lura, Patty (Fran) Bedore and Peggy (Craig) Halverson; eleven grandchildren and fifteen great-grandchildren.

Visitation: one hour before the service at the church.

Funeral: Tuesday, March 13, 2018, 11:00 a.m., Rollag Lutheran Church, Rollag, MN.

Interment: Rollag Lutheran Church Cemetery
