Sidney A. Ullrich

Sidney was born August 23, 1919 to Marcus and Emma Kelting Ullrich at Barnesville, Minnesota. He grew up and attended rural school near Downer, Minnesota. He moved to Lake Park, Minnesota in 1936, where he worked various jobs in the Lake Park and Barnesville area, and also worked for farmers. Sidney was married to Thelma Strand at Lake Park Lutheran Church on July 18, 1943. In 1944 they began farming north of Lake Park. They moved into Lake Park in 1979 after retiring from farming. From 1990 until 2001 they spent winters in Texas and resided in Detroit Lakes, Minnesota during the summer months. Sidney served ten years on the Cuba Township Board, the Wild Rice Electric Board, and was Vice President of Square Bute Electric at Center, North Dakota. He enjoyed sports, golf, polka dancing and playing cards. He was preceded in death by his parents, one brother, Edwin, and one great-granddaughter. He is survived by his wife, Thelma Ullrich, Lake Park, MN; two sons, Dennis Karen Ullrich, Lake Park, MN, and James January Ullrich, Lake Park, MN; one daughter, Connie Wally Bloom, Lake Park, MN; one brother, Robert Jesse Ullrich, Lake Park, MN; two sisters, Gladys Schrieter, Lake Park, MN, and Lucille Seabrook, Oxford, MI; nine grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.
