Signe V. Hanson

March 1, 1920 — January 16, 2008

Signe was born March 1, 1920 to Ole and Thea Elton Moe in Hamden Township. She attended school through the 8th grade at District 34 Country School. On February 29, 1944, she married LeRoy Hanson in Audubon, MN. Together they made their home on a farm north of Audubon. LeRoy passed away in the summer of 1975, and Signe continued to live on the family farm until becoming a resident of St. Mary's Nursing Center in 2004. She was an active member of the First Lutheran Church Women Quilters, Auxiliary VFW Post 6033, Sons of Norway, Christian Women's Club and a faithful prayer warrior. Her grandchildren were a special blessing to her.Signe is survived by 4 sons, David Sharon Hanson of Dalton, MN, John Mary Hanson of Audubon, MN, Larry Hanson of Barnesville, MN, Russell LeAnn Hanson of Detroit Lakes, MN; 1 daughter, Signe Marie Michael Renshaw of Andover, MN; 1 brother, Elton Moe of Australia; 8 grandchildren; and 1 great-grandson, Trevor.She was preceded in death by her husband, LeRoy; parents, Ole and Thea; twin grandsons, Lonnie Roy and Daniel John Hanson; 2 sisters, Orlean Gerhardt Erdmann and Thelma Frank Hemmer.The family would like to give special thanks St. Mary's Nursing Center and Hospice of the Red River Valley for their exceptional care.
