Stanley E. Arneson

Stanley E. Arneson, 97, of Fargo, ND, formerly of Greenville, SC, died Saturday, Oct. 10, 2015.

Stanley Elmer Arneson was born on August 12, 1918, in Yankton, SD, to Elmer and Katherine “Kate” Edberg Arneson. He grew up in Yankton, SD, and then enlisted in the United States Coast Guard. On July 3, 1943, he married Edna Ingebretsen of Staten Island, NY. They made their home in Fanwood, New Jersey where they raised their two children. Stan was employed by Kraft Foods until his retirement. Stan and Edna retired in South Carolina, until 2012 when they moved to Riverview Place in Fargo, ND.

Stan was a 32nd degree Master Mason and a member of the Masonic Lodge for 70 years. He was a member of the American Legion. Stan also enjoyed playing bridge and golf.

Stan is survived by his wife of 72 years, Edna Arneson, Fargo, ND; daughter, Sheryl Dr. Jeffrey Harvey, Fargo, ND; son, Douglas Arneson, San Diego, CA; three grandchildren, Allison, Thomas, and Elizabeth Harvey; and nephew, Richard Morhous, Seattle, WA.

Stan was preceded in death by his parents and two sisters, Florence Erdley and Virginia Morhous.

In lieu of flowers memorials may be given to Trinity Lutheran Church, Moorhead, MN, 210 7th St. S, Moorhead, MN, 56560.
