Stanley J. Dewerff

Stanley James Dewerff, 80, Moorhead, MN, died on Saturday, February 15, 2020 in Sanford Medical Center, Fargo, ND.

Stan was born on March 4, 1939 in Fargo, ND, to Elmer and Crystal Dewerff.  He was raised and attended school in Chaffee, ND.  He graduated from Chaffee High School in 1957.  Stan joined the North Dakota National Guard and served from 1957 to 1963.  He attended Dakota Business College in Fargo, ND, and graduated in 1961.

Stan married Barbara Hebert in 1963 and had two children.  They were later divorced.  Stan married June Durgin on June 26, 1982, in Trinity Lutheran Church in Moorhead, MN.  They lived in Fargo before moving to Moorhead in 1995.  Stan worked throughout his career as a sales representative in the HVAC industry.  Stan enjoyed working.  He was most recently employed at Goodin Company and worked through 2019.

Stan loved to spend time attending his grandchildren’s sporting events and other extracurricular activities.  He enjoyed maintaining a flower garden and was an avid baseball and football fan.  His favorite teams were the Vikings and Twins.

Stan is survived by his sons, Mike Dewerff, Ankeny, IA, Brian (Rochelle) Durgin, Fargo, ND, Jay (Monique) Durgin, Fargo, ND; daughter, Michele (Jeffrey) Murphy, Phoenix, AZ; brothers, Walter Dewerff, Lisbon, ND, John (Kay) Dewerff, Denver, CO, Elmer Dewerff Jr., Fargo, ND; sisters, Emma Dewerff, Fargo, ND, Ida (Tom) Dallmann, Barnesville, MN, Sandra (Clyde) Dallmann, Barnesville, MN, Karen Hennes, Minneapolis, MN, Susan Dewerff and five grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his wife June Dewerff; parents, Elmer and Crystal Dewerff and a brother, Curtis Dewerff.

A visitation will be held on Tuesday, February 18, 2020 from 5:00-7:00 P.M. at Wright Funeral Home, Moorhead, MN.

A funeral service will be held on Wednesday, February 19, 2020 at 10:00 A.M. at Trinity Lutheran Church, Moorhead, MN.

Burial will be in Evergreen Memorial Cemetery, Moorhead, MN.
