Stanley O. Eid

Stanley O. Eid, 88, of Lake Park, MN, died Sunday, July 20, 2014, at Riverfront on Main Assisted Living, Pelican Rapids, MN. Stanley Orvis Eid was born in Barnesville, MN, on March 10, 1926, to Isaac and Alma Moe Eid. He grew up and attended school in Barnesville before enlisting in the U.S. Army in 1945. Following his service he returned to the area. On February 22, 1947, he married Dona Mae Meyer in Barnesville. Together they farmed south of Hawley until 1954. Stanley then moved to Lake Park, where he worked for Midwest Breeders and later for Lake Park Community Co-op. On February 9, 1973, Stanley married Ruthmarie Holmgren Johnson in Lake Park. Together they made their home there and Stanley continued to work until retiring in 1988. Stanley enjoyed spending time outdoors, mowing, traveling and was a member of the American Legion. He also enjoyed the years he was able to take care of the grounds at Lake Park Lutheran Cemetery. He will be dearly missed.
Stanley is survived by his daughters, Linda Mike Berg of Pelican Rapids, MN, Betty Gene Karger of Elbow Lake, MN, Claris Floyd Olson Keeping of Fergus Falls, MN, Janis Thomas Weets of Osage, MN; sister, Audrey Donald Jensen of Moorhead; 9 grandchildren; and 11 great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his wives, Dona Mae and Ruthmarie.
