Stephan A. Pezalla

We are saddened to announce the passing of our husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather Stephan Pezalla on Monday, May 2, 2011. Dad's legacy lives on in his family with his wife, Betty, of 65 years; children Paul Ginny, Jonathan Susan, Margaret Tim; 14 grandchildren; 8 great-grandchildren; and faithful dog, Yoko.He is predeceased by his son Stephan Shelly and his daughter Barbara David. Always known as Steve, Dad was born at home in Cayuga, North Dakota, and enjoyed a childhood that he remembered fondly. After attending Science School in Wahpeton, he enlisted in the U.S. Navy, served during World War II, and was an active member of the Naval Reserve Officer's Association. He retired from his position of Vice President of North Dakota Blue Shield after many years of devoted service. He loved the times spent at the lake in the summer, where he enjoyed watching his family expand and welcomed each new grandchild with open arms and great hopes for the future.Words cannot express how much we will miss him, how much we learned from him, or how much we loved him. Rest in peace, dear Dad.
