Steve E. Hartog

Steven Eric Hartog, 51, of Tulsa, OK, died Saturday, September 10, 2016, at his home, surrounded by his family, after a courageous battle with colon cancer. #Hartogstrong
Steven Eric Hartog was born November 13, 1964, in Sioux Center, IA. He was the youngest son of Donald and Roberta Grove Hartog. He moved with his family to Moorhead, MN in 1967 where he graduated from Moorhead High School in June of 1983. Steve was a talented athlete. He participated in football, hockey his greatest passion, baseball and track and he was an avid Minnesota Vikings fan. After high school he spent 2 years at St. Cloud State. and from there moved to Minneapolis where he began his retail sales career. In 1990, he began working at Helzberg Diamonds as a sales person and worked his way up the ladder. Helzberg brought him to Ohio, back to Minnesota and then to Tulsa, OK as a Regional Manager in 2002. Steve was passionate about his job and helped many Helzberg employees realize their dreams. Steve was a people person who always brought his smile and wit into any room he entered. He enjoyed playing Texas Hold’em and was very good at it. He enjoyed the outdoors and fishing in Canada with his brothers and dad.

Steve married Karlie Radebach in September 1991 and they had 2 children, Alexandra and Kyle. They were later divorced. Steve loved his children dearly and was very involved in their lives. He found his life partner, Brenda Sanchez, 7 years ago and they were married October 10, 2015.

He is survived by his wife, Brenda; children, Alexandra and Kyle; parents, Don and Roberta Hartog; his sister, Sandy Les Simmons, Glyndon, MN and 4 brothers, Randy Judy Hartog, Fargo, Scott Gina Hartog, Fargo, Curt Hartog, Panama City, FL and Doug Eve Hartog, Panama City, FL, and a large extended family. Steve was preceded in death by his maternal and paternal grandparents.

A Celebration of Life service will be held on Saturday, September 17, at 2:00 P.M., in Grace United Methodist Church, Moorhead, MN.

Gathering will be one hour prior to the service in the church.

Interment will be at Riverside Cemetery, Moorhead, MN.
