Stewart Lee Bjorhus

Stewart Lee Bjorhus, 65, of Borup, MN, passed away on Friday, August 19, 2022, at Sanford Hospital, Fargo, ND, surrounded by his loving family.

Stewart was born on July 9, 1957, to Donald and Audrey (Matson) Bjorhus in Moorhead, MN. He grew up on the family farm near Felton, MN. After graduating from Glyndon-Felton High School and attending UM-Crookston, Stewart returned to his roots by taking over the family’s century farm, the place where he grew up and worked his whole life. He was united in marriage to his high school sweetheart, Jennifer England, on April 12, 1980, in Felton, MN.

Stewart served his community on the Felton Farmers Elevator Board, with the Felton Community Club, and as a Gloria Dei Lutheran Church Council Member for several years. He was also a lifelong member at Gloria Dei Lutheran Church in Felton. He was honored to be chosen as Clay County King Agassiz in 1994 for his farming achievements.

Stewart found joy in life through activity and adventure. Through farming, he found joy in the natural beauty of God’s creation. Snowmobiling expeditions with friends when he was young became Caribbean cruises with Jennifer later in life. He found his greatest joy through sharing experiences with his children and grandchildren, from attending school functions to taking ATV rides around the farm or driving in his 1973 Camaro Z28. Stewart was a man of few words but infinite generosity. Beneath his quiet exterior he had an irrepressible spirit of playfulness, and there was an unmistakable twinkle in his eye when he had a little mischief on his mind. Stewart will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved him.

Stewart is survived by his loving wife, Jennifer; children, Rachel (Tony) Rydberg, Tyler (Lydia) Bjorhus, Jordan (Katie) Bjorhus, and Jacob (Kathryn) Bjorhus; grandchildren, Elijah Rydberg, Elliott and Gretchen Bjorhus, Isaak, Carson, and Emery Bjorhus; sisters, Debbie Kuball and Kathy (Greg) Tweten; sisters-in-law, Bonnie (Cary) Eastvold, Joyce Johnson, Lila Ebner, and Jayne Stenstad; brother-in-law, Allan (Linda) England; and many other loving relatives and friends. He is preceded in death by his parents, Donald and Audrey; mother and father-in-law, Ed and Melva England; brothers-in-law, Bob Kuball, Clay Johnson, Tom Ebner, John Nelson; nephew, Travis Johnson; and many dear friends and relatives.

Visitation will be from 5:00 P.M. to 7:00 P.M., with no prayer service to follow, on Friday, August 26, 2022, at Gloria Dei Lutheran Church, Felton, MN. Visitation will continue from 10:00 A.M. to 11:00 A.M., followed by the funeral service at 11:00 A.M., on Saturday, August 27, 2022, at Gloria Dei. Burial will be at Felton Cemetery, Felton, MN, following the service.
