Stuart Brian Anderson, age 52, of Pelican Lake, Minnesota died from congestive heart failure on Sunday, January 9, 2011 at Sanford Medical Center in Fargo, North Dakota.Stuart was born on April 21, 1958 at Pelican Valley Hospital in Pelican Rapids, Minnesota to Eddie and Bernice Arneson Anderson. He joined his siblings; Diana, DeWayne, Edwin, Willis and Daniel, on the family dairy farm south of Rollag, Minnesota. During his youth he was a member of Rollag Lutheran Church, the Tansem Tigers 4-H Club and the Rollag Robins softball team. He attended K-12 public school in Pelican Rapids, Minnesota. After graduating from Pelican Rapids High School in 1976 he attended Moorhead Technical College, graduating in 1978. Stuart was employed in agriculture-related jobs throughout his life. He partnered with his brother, Willis, to run the family farm near Rollag. He also enjoyed winters working at ski resorts in Big Sky, Montana. For the past 20 years he ran his own business, Diversified Lawn Services of Pelican Lake, serving many clients and residents in the lakes area.Stuart enjoyed visiting with people, living on Pelican Lake, and following the ups and downs of professional sports, especially the Minnesota Vikings with his friends in the Cormorant Area. He also enjoyed riding his four-wheeler from the lakes area to his home farm near Rollag, where he owned hunting property. Stuart's sense of humor, positive life outlook and love of stories was enjoyed by his many friends and family.Stuart Anderson is survived by a sister, Diana Overland, Alexandria, MN; brothers, DeWayne Janice Kalamazoo, MI; Edwin, Hawley, MN; Daniel, Rollag, MN; 9 nieces and nephews, Royce Angie Overland, Sartell, MN; Chad Sarah Overland, Alexandria, MN; Ryan Tracy Overland, West Fargo, ND; Michael, East Lansing, MI; David Nancy, Lansing, MI; Brynn Joel, Kalamazoo, MI; Steven, St. Petersburg, FL; Lindsay, Mankato, MN; Joe, Fargo, ND; an aunt, Peg Arneson, Detroit Lakes; 13 great-nieces and great-nephews; and many cousins and close friends. Stuart was preceded in death by his parents, Eddie and Bernice Arneson Anderson; an infant brother, Edin Anderson; a brother, Willis Anderson, and a sister-in-law, Ginger Kuchera Anderson.A Memorial Service for Stuart Brian Anderson will be held on Saturday, May 21 at 1:00 PM at Rollag Lutheran Church, Rollag, Minnesota. Interment will be at Aspelund Cemetery in Tansem Township. Following the burial a fellowship coffee will be served in the basement of Rollag Lutheran Church. Later that day a Remembrance Celebration of Stuart Anderson's Life will be hosted by his family at the Community Room of the Cormorant Pub in Cormorant, Minnesota beginning at 4:30 PM.The family of Stuart Anderson would like to thank the doctors, nurses and staff at Sanford Medical Center for his care during the last weeks of his life. Stuart's family would also like to thank his many friends, classmates and neighbors who cared about him, and for him, during his years on Pelican Lake.
