Sundra Jo Whaley

Sundra Jo (Erickson) Whaley, 79, of Hawley, MN, passed away on Wednesday, February 15, 2023.

Sundra was born on April 2, 1943, to Carl and Verna (Bergman) Erickson in Moorhead, MN. She grew up in Hawley, MN, where she attended and graduated from Hawley High School. She married her high school sweetheart, Dean Whaley, on July 7, 1962. They moved to Minneapolis where they lived for 38 years, prior to moving to Hawley in 1996. Sundra and Dean began farming on their family farm until 2016.

Sundra loved her dogs and enjoyed working in her yard and tending to her farm that she loved so much. She also enjoyed spending time with her family.

Sundra is survived by her children, John (Susie) Whaley and Liz (Matt) Borstad; grandchildren, Johnny (Tatiana) Whaley, Zack Whaley, and Blake Whaley; great-grandchild, Alan; and many other loving relatives and friends. She is preceded in death by her husband of 57 years, Dean Whaley; son Doug Whaley; and parents, Carl and Verna.

Visitation will be from 10:00 A.M. to 11:00 A.M., followed by the funeral service at 11:00 A.M., Saturday, February 25, 2023, at Wright Funeral Home, Hawley, MN. Burial will be at a later date.
