Synthia Fay "Cindy" Menholt

Synthia Fay “Cindy” (Brinkman) Menholt, 70, of Felton, MN, passed away on Sunday, October 27, 2024, at Sanford Hospice House, Fargo, ND, surrounded by her loving family.

Cindy was born on May 18, 1954, to Leo and Marie (Serr) Brinkman in Eureka, SD. She grew up in Wishek, ND, where she graduated from Wishek High School. She moved to Bath, SD, and worked in Aberdeen, SD, at a nursing home as a CNA. She moved to Felton, MN, and bartended and waitressed at Larry’s Place, which was ran by her family. She met Richard Menholt in Felton, and they were united in marriage on March 27, 1982.

Cindy worked at various bars and restaurants in the area, including Ulen, Borup, and Felton on top of raising her family. She eventually retired in 2020, residing in Felton.

Cindy loved going to the Mahnomen Casino with her family and friends and hanging out with her friends and having a good time at local establishments. She enjoyed cooking for her family, especially her German/Russian family heritage dishes. She decorated her spaces in everything strawberry and cooked in her strawberry motifs. She especially loved spending time with her grandchildren.

Cindy is survived by her loving husband, Richard; children, Brent (Denise) Brinkman, Brandon (Leah Doyle) Menholt, and Sascha (Michaela) Maric; grandchildren, Emma and Lea Brinkman and Noah and Robin Maric; siblings, Susan (Bill) Johnson, Kathy Brinkman, Randy (Sally) Brinkman, and Russell (Heidi) Brinkman; and many other loving relatives and friends. She is preceded in death by her parents, Leo and Marie; and siblings, Sharon Thilmony, Stanley Brinkman, and Patricia Morlock.

Visitation will be from 4:00 P.M. to 6:00 P.M., with the prayer service beginning at 5:30 P.M., Wednesday, October 30, 2024, at Wright Funeral Home, Moorhead, MN. Visitation will continue from 10:00 A.M. to 11:00 A.M., followed by the funeral service at 11:00 A.M., Thursday, October 31, 2024, at Gloria Dei Lutheran Church, Felton, MN. A livestream of the service will be available on Cindy’s webpage at www.wrightfuneral.com where a guestbook and video tribute may also be found. Burial will be at Felton Cemetery, Felton, MN, following the services at the church.

Cindy’s family would like to extend their gratitude to the staff at Sanford Hospice House and to the staff at Roger Marris Cancer Center for the special care they gave Cindy during her time with them.
