Terrie Lynn Kujava, 52, of Hawley, MN, passed away October 10, 2010, at Triumph Hospital under the care of Hospice of the Red River Valley and Triumph's caring staff. Terrie was surrounded by family.She was born July 23, 1958, in Detroit Lakes, MN, the daughter of Lyle and Barbs Hansen.Terrie attended Hitterdal Elementary School through the 2nd grade before moving to Hawley, MN, with her family. She attended Hawley Public Schools and graduated from Hawley High School in 1976.In the summer of 1976, Terrie worked for Sellin Brothers, Inc. as a flag girl. Terrie moved to Thief River Falls in the fall of 1976 and began her career as a telephone operator with Northwestern Bell. She retired from Qwest on April 11, 2008, from the Fargo, ND, office. For the past few years Terrie enjoyed her Saturdays in Winger, MN, working at the Livestock Sales. She also worked part-time for Tony's SuperValue in Hawley in the bakery department until September 2009. Terrie also enjoyed cross-stitch, making baby quilts and regular quilts for family members. She loved cooking, canning, and baking. Terrie's pies were a family favorite.She married Roger Kujava on June 25, 1977, in Hawley Lutheran Church. Together they resided in Thief River Falls from 1977 – 1981. They moved to their current home north of Hawley in the spring of 1981.Terrie is survived by her husband, Roger; three children, Troy Denise Kujava, Milaca, MN, Katie Neil Ahles, Hawley, MN, Thad Kujava, Hawley, MN; granddaughter, Marissa, who was the apple of Terrie's eye; parents, Lyle and Barbs Hansen, Hawley, MN; sisters, Tammy James Pidde, Burien, WA, Toni Mitchell Kleber, Moorhead, MN; and several nephews and nieces.She was preceded in death by a nephew, Mark; father-in-law, Harry; an uncle and two aunts.
