Theresa Newgren

Theresa Marie Newgren (Fields), 83, of Hawley, Minnesota, passed away and into the arms of her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, on Monday, June 19, 2023, in her home under the care of her family and hospice.

Theresa was born October 24, 1939, in Waubun, Minnesota, and raised by Leo and Isabelle Parisian.

Theresa married Earl Newgren on July 15, 1957. Following their marriage they lived in France, Germany, Korea, as well as several other locations in the United States. They moved to Hawley in 1977 where she has since resided. She was an amazing cook, she loved flowers, and watching her birds outside. She could sew or fix anything she put her mind to. She spent her life loving, serving, and praying for her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren.

She is survived by her children, Earl Jr. (Denise), Vicky (Robbie) Turner, Brenda (Woody) Grandbois, Julie (Chris) Sumstad, and Mitzi (Ryan) Lewis; grandchildren, Sabrina, Ben, Michele, Briann, Jenny, Tim, Daniel, Sam, Arriel, Storm, Cody, Syvannah, Madison, Jack, Joseph, Luke, Noah, Thomas, and Leia; many great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews, and sisters, Sis, Mitzi, and Tammy.

 Theresa was preceded in death by her husband Earl; son, Dean Newgren; and grandson, Josh Lee; her parents, Leo and Isabelle; her sisters, Maxine and Eva; and her brothers, Leo and Harold.

A memorial service will be Tuesday, July 11, 2023, at 11:00 A.M., with visitation for one hour before the service, at Hawley Alliance Church, Hawley, MN. Burial will be at Hawley Cemetery.
