Thomas L. Doyea, age 79, of Dilworth, MN, died Friday, July 1, 2011, in Triumph Hospital, Fargo, ND.Thomas Louis Doyea was born on October 25, 1931 to Paul and Isabelle Olson Doyea in Plummer, MN. He grew up and attended school in Plummer, graduating from Plummer High School in 1949. Tom then attended Dakota Business College in Fargo for one year prior to enlisting in the United States Air Force and served for 7 1/2 years. Part of Tom's service in the Air Force was spent in England during the Korean Conflict. He was honorably discharged in 1958. On May 4, 1968 he married Colleen Pedersen in Bemidji, MN. Together they had two children, Bryan and Thomas. Tom worked various jobs including Red River Valley Transport in Gentilly, MN before moving to Dilworth where he worked for Red Owl Foods in Fargo for 16 1/2 years. Later Tom worked for Hartz Truck Line out of Thief River Falls and eventually bought his own truck. Tom retired from trucking in 2006.Tom enjoyed camping with his boys in their younger years, trucking, and most recently, playing solitaire and other puzzle games on the computer. He was a retired secretary from the Dilworth Volunteer Fire Department. Blessed be the memory of Thomas Doyea, he will be missed dearly by those who knew him.He is survived by his wife of 43 years, Colleen "Cookie" Doyea of Dilworth, MN; sons, Bryan Kelly of Colorado Springs, CO and Thomas Wendy of Wasilla, AK; sister, Evelyn Willard Lidenberg of Dilworth, MN; three grandchildren, Paige, Renea and Catherine as well as several nieces and nephews.He was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Albert and an infant brother, sister, Clarice Thornton and an infant sister.
