Troy F. Schopen

Troy F. Schopen, age 56, of Detroit Lakes, MN, formerly of Omaha, NE, passed away on Tuesday, February 17, 2021 at Eventide on Eight in Moorhead under the care of Hospice of the Red River Valley.

Troy Francis Schopen was born in Deadwood, SD on January 9, 1965. Troy later moved during his youth to Omaha, NE and graduated from Northwest High School. Troy married in 1987 and had two children, Emily (Cory) Devine in Elwood, NE and Chase Schopen in Omaha, NE. He later divorced and moved to Minnesota where he worked a lot of odd and end jobs making many friends along the way. He took great pride in his work and was a hard worker by nature. At the end of a long work day, Troy loved nothing better than grilling a good steak or burger and reminiscing with others over happy memories. He also had a great love for hunting, fishing, and being outdoors and will always be remembered for his great sense of humor and willingness to help others. Troy will be greatly missed by his children and extended family.
