Truman “Tim” Hanson, 74, of Bemidji passed away on Oct 28, 2019 at Sanford Hospital, Fargo, ND with his loving family by his side. Truman Allen Hanson was born October 3, 1945 in Crookston, MN, the son of Robert Magnus Hanson and Edith Virginia Hanson. He grew up and worked on the family farm and attended school in Gary, MN, graduating with his class of 1963. Tim worked for Thorson Construction until being drafted into the US Army in 1965. He spent two years at Camp Hovey Korea and honorably discharged in 1967. While there he married Helen Punsun. They returned to Gary, MN and to this union two sons, Alan and Mark were born. Tim resumed his job with Thorson Construction and the family moved to Thief River Falls, MN. Years later Tim moved to Bemidji, MN where he married Nancy Dunbar and to this union two Sons, James and Robert were born. He worked for Thorson until his retirement. He enjoyed tending to his tomato garden, feeding the birds and looked forward to his family coming for the annual deer hunt and also spending time with others. Survivors include; Sons Alan (Anna) Hanson, Mark, James (Jessica) and Robert (Misti). Grandchildren Colton, Taylor, and Bailey Hanson, Megan Gregg, Isabel and Kilee Loos. Siblings Evelyn Johnson of Farmington, MN, Judith Farden of Grand Forks, ND and Reynold Hanson of Chaumont, NY. Also, many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents and three nephews. A Celebration of Life will be held in Fairbault, MN June 19th at the home of Alan and Anna Hanson after a military ceremony at Ft. Snelling. A local Celebration of Life will be held at a later date at his Bemidji home.
