Trygve “Bud” S. Simenson

Trygve S. “Bud” Simenson, 87, of Hawley, MN, died Saturday, August 10, 2013 in Pioneer Cottages, Fergus Falls, MN.

Trygve “Bud” Sigurd Simenson was born on February 8, 1926, in Hawley, MN to Sigurd and Ida Leverson Simenson. He grew up North of Hawley, MN and attended country school and Hawley High School. Bud served in the United States Navy from 1944 – 1946. After returning from the Navy he went to barber school and opened Simenson’s Barber and Beauty. In 1947 Bud married Doris Kasin. Together they operated the barber shop until their retirement.

Bud was an active member in the Hawley community, volunteering for the fire department for many years. He also helped expand and develop the Hawley Golf Course. Bud enjoyed fishing, hunting and golfing.

Bud is survived by his wife, Doris, Hawley, MN; son, Duane Jennie Herbranson, Burnsville, MN; three granddaughters, Natalie Joe Klejwa, Apple Valley, MN, Raquel Doug Martinson, Apple Valley, MN and Brenda Trent Morrell, Elk River, MN; 18 great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.

Visitation: Thursday, August 15, 2013, 5:00 – 7:00 p.m., with a 7:00 p.m. prayer service, Wright Funeral Home, Hawley, MN.

Funeral: Friday, August 16, 2013, 2:00 p.m., Hawley Lutheran Church, Hawley, MN

Interment: Hawley Cemetery, Hawley, MN.
