Velma G. Carlson

Velma G. Rehder Carlson, 91, of Moorhead, MN, died Wednesday, August 20, 2014, in Eventide Lutheran Home, Moorhead, MN.

Velma Getz Rehder was born on October 8, 1922, in Sabin, MN, to Henning and Frieda Getz Rehder. She grew up near Comstock, MN, where she graduated from Comstock High School. Velma worked as a health care worker in various positions at St. Ansgar’s Hospital, St. John’s Hospital and
TNI, over the years.

Velma was a loving mother and grandmother and is survived by her son, Larry Mary Jane Carlson, Port Charlotte, FL; daughter, Bonnie Larry O’Shaughnessy, St. Paul, MN; and two grandsons, Brandon Crystal Kempf, Fridley, MN and Michael Carlson, Minneapolis, MN.

She was preceded in death by her son, Gene Carlson, her parents, two brothers, Vernon and Victor Rehder; and sister, Vivian Manger.
