Vera Viola Brantner Engesetter passed away July 20, 2005 at Innovis Hospital in Fargo, ND, under the care of Hospice of the Red River Valley.Vera was born on November 20, 1912 to Charles U. and Mary Brantner on the family farm in Viding Township, Clay County, MN. On October 28, 1933 Vera married Arthur Art Engesetter in the Concordia Church parsonage. Vera and Art had one son, Walter.Vera lived her entire life in Clay County. She was an expert seamstress and made many quilts, dolls and teddy bears and much more. If she set her mind to it, she could do just about anything and joked often that the only thing she didn't do on the farm was climb the windmill. She taught crafts in Senior Centers throughout Clay County for many years and also was the Activity Director at the Americana Nursing Home in Moorhead for a number of years.Vera was a member of Concordia Church for 72 years and belonged to the Ladies Aid. She was also a Life Member of the Ladies Auxiliary of Veterans of Foreign Wars.Vera is survived by her son Walter; her special friend, Lois Jensen; two sisters, Minnie Graff, Kindred, ND, Irma Larsen, Phoenix, AZ; one brother Charles Casey Brantner, Moorhead, MN; and numerous nieces and nephews, great nieces and nephews and great-great nieces and nephews.In lieu of flowers, memorials preferred to Hospice of the Red River Valley, Fargo, ND.
