Verna H. Halverson

Verna was born April 13, 1919 in Climax, MN. She grew up in Climax and Lake Park, MN, before moving to Detroit Lakes, MN. In 1939 she married Leonard Halverson in Detroit Lakes and together they started a family. They soon moved to Moorhead where Verna worked for the Rex Caf? for many years. She moved to Minneapolis when Leonard died and worked a few jobs, but spent the last 10 years working for the American Cancer Society. She will be dearly missed.Verna is survived by daughters, Cleo Bill Shields of Seneca, SC, Gaye Pat Tang of Harlingen, TX; 9 grandchildren, and 19 great-grandchildren; sister, Gerry; and brothers, Michael and Clayton.She was preceded in death by her husband, Leonard, in 1963; son, Jerry, in 1982; and parents, Halvor and Sophie Finseth.
