Vernon W. ’Vern’ Possehl

Vern was born on September 7, 1931 in Baker, MN to Walter and Clara Possehl. He grew up and attended school in Moorhead. Vern worked for Red Owl Warehouse, Cass Clay Creamery, and Moorhead Linoleum and Tile before starting Vern's Carpet Service. Following his retirement he worked for D & B Specialties. On September 12, 1953 he married Levetta Matzek in Fingal, ND. Levetta passed away on February 29, 2004. Vern was an avid penny collector, loved auctioning for collectables and collecting for others. Vern is survived by three sons, Larry Julie, Fargo, Wayne, Moorhead and Jeff Dawne Glyndon, MN; two sisters, Wanda Percy Egge, Mesa, AZ, and Eunice Williamson, Shelton, WA; two grandchildren, AmyJo Possehl and Joseph Possehl and one great grandson, Donavin Possehl. Vern was preceded in death by his wife, parents, and his twin sister, Vera. In lieu of flowers the family requests memorials be made to either Roger Maris Cancer Center or Hospice of the Red River Valley.
