Vernon Woltjer

Vernon Alvin Woltjer, 91, of Borup, MN, died Friday, April 17, 2020, at Moorhead Rehabilitation and Healthcare Center.

Vernon was born January 16, 1929 to Pete and Anna (Fenske) Woltjer.  He grew up and attended country school in rural Borup while living and working on the family farm.  Vernon married Deloris Tinnel in 1950 and they made their home in rural Borup where they raised their four children.  Vernon farmed in rural Borup his entire life.  In his spare time he enjoyed playing cards and fishing and smelting with his friends.

Vernon is survived by his daughter, Ann (Dale) Reilly, West Fargo, ND; brother, Dennis (Shirley) Woltjer, Borup; grandchildren, Rachel and Trevor, and several great-grandchildren.  He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Deloris; his daughter, Pauline Poole, and his sons, Rodney and Arland Woltjer.

A private graveside service will be held at Winchester Lutheran Church Cemetery in Borup, MN.
