Vicki Slabik

Vicki Slabik, 86, Moorhead, MN, died on Saturday, March 6, 2010, at Innovis Health, Fargo, ND.Victoria A. Sutyla was born August 2, 1923, on the family farm near Geneseo, ND, to John and Rose Wisnewski Sutyla. She grew up and attended school there, graduating from Geneseo High School. Vicki married Frank H. Slabik on October 15, 1946, in Geneseo, ND. They lived in California, Geneseo and Wahpeton, ND, before moving to Moorhead in 1957, where they raised five children. Frank died on May 6, 1976. Vicki worked for many years as the bookkeeper at St. Francis de Sales Catholic Church in Moorhead. Her children and grandchildren meant the world to her and they knew that there was nothing she wouldn't do for them. Her catholic faith and St. Francis church community were equally important to her. Besides her family and church, she enjoyed traveling, playing cards, reading, word puzzles and a good game of Scrabble.Vicki is survived by her children, Pat Mike Kotten, West Battle Lake, MN, Sue Jerry Lundberg, Colorado Springs, CO, Steve Shauna Slabik, Fargo, ND, Bev Slabik, Dilworth, MN; grandchildren, Michelle Ian Lasics, Matt Kotten, Nick Kelly Lundberg and their son great-grandchild Andy, Eric Madeline Lundberg, Matt Lundberg, Jenny Slabik, Kelly Lontz; two step grandchildren, Mandi Lucas Hoffman, and Eric Gerst. She was preceded in death by her husband, Frank; son Charles, and daughter-in-law, Shirley Lontz.Memorials may be given to St. Francis de Sales Catholic Church in Moorhead.
