Viola R. Hanson

Viola Ruth Heger Hanson was born on March 21, 1939 in Fargo, ND to Frank and Annie Maxwell Heger. Viola grew up in Casselton, ND until the age of 15. She then moved to Fargo, ND where she worked at the Gardner Hotel, Powers Hotel, Hawley Manor and most recently, Quality Bakery of Fargo. Viola attended school in Wild Rice, ND. She spent all of her adult life in Fargo, ND before marrying Dwayne Hanson on July 3, 1971. They lived on a farm in Rollag, MN for most of their 40 years of marriage. Viola was a devoted wife and mother who saw to the needs of her many friends and neighbors. She was involved in the Rollag Lutheran Church circle and the Western Minnesota Steam Threshers Reunion, Rollag, MN. She also loved to cook and was always ready to share a meal and good conversation. She is survived by her husband, Dwayne; children, Dale Heger, Fargo,ND, Larry Debbie Hanson, Moorhead, MN, Bob Niney Hanson, Fargo, ND, Ron Hanson, Fargo, Bonny Holbrook, FL and Shirley Schaffer, Dilworth, MN; brother, Leo Ida Heger, WA; seven grandchildren, six great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; siblings, Millie, Johnny, Marie, Frankie, Dorothy, Rosella, Joann and two infant sisters, Annie and Mae; daughter, Barbara.
