E. Virginia (Opp) Nyberg, 98, of Fargo, ND, passed away on Monday, October 28 at Bethany on 42nd. Virginia was born to Gustav and Elphild (Lindquist) Opp on March 25, 1921. She graduated from Wheaton High School and attended Gustavus Adolphus College, where she met her future husband, Karl Nyberg.
During the war, she worked for the FBI in Detroit as personal secretary to the agent in charge. Virginia had a strong faith and was active in the church, serving on committees and singing in the choir. She loved to read and especially spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Virginia was preceded in death by her husband, Karl, and her son, Brad. She is survived by children Connie Nyberg, Roberta Shimensky, Mike Nyberg, Vickie Wagner (Dan), Brad’s widow Karen Gross, and Mike’s special friend Jeanette Lindsay. She leaves 13 grandchildren and numerous great-grandchildren. We would like to thank the wonderful staff at Bethany on 42nd for the loving care they provided during her stay there.
Visitation will be Thursday, November 7th, from 6-8 pm, with a prayer service at 7 pm, at Wright Funeral Home in Moorhead.
Memorial service will be held on Friday, November 8th at 11 am, at The Lutheran of the Good Shepherd in Moorhead.
