Vivian was born January 27, 1919, in Devils Lake, ND, but spent most of her life on the west coast. Vivian married Freelyn C. Wenzel on December 31, 1939. Together they made their home in Bremerton, WA, and started a family. Vivian was very active with the Red Cross and was instrumental in starting and training those involved with the Chapter where they lived. She was known as an excellent cook and even owned her own restaurant for a time. Vivian later moved to Moorhead and lived with her daughter, Vicki, but had most recently been a resident at Eventide Lutheran Home in Moorhead. She was an extraordinary mother who put family and friends before herself. She enjoyed reading and spending time outdoors, but most of all loved camping and the time she was able spend with family. Vivian is survived by her daughter, Vicki Atterbury of Moorhead, MN; son, Freelyn Janetta Wenzel, Jr. of Osakis, MN; grandchildren, Tim Atterbury, Erik Wenzel, Karl Wenzel and Bill Wenzel; great-grandchildren, Kory, Cody, Ryan, Lacy, Kimberly, Samantha, Vince, Jonathan, Wyatt, William, Jr., Arianne and Denise; great-great-granddaughter, Jasmine; and sister, Naomi of Osakis, MN. She was preceded in death by her husband; grandson, Ty Atterbury; sister, Hanna; and brothers, Chester and Norman.
