Vivian O. Paulson

Vivian Paulson, 89, Moorhead, MN, passed away peacefully Sunday, February 19, 2023, under the care of Ethos Hospice, at Eventide on Eighth Moorhead.

Vivian Ordella Ohnstad was born on November 10, 1933, in Argusville, ND to Orville and Elizabeth (Weiss) Ohnstad. She was the middle child of three children. She lived in Argusville until the family home was moved to Moorhead, MN. Vivian grew up and attended school in Moorhead, MN where she graduated in 1953.

After graduation Vivian worked for Northern School Supply in Fargo, ND. Later she began her waitressing career, starting at Matson’s Truck Stop in Moorhead, and ending at T&T Restaurant in Moorhead.

Vivian enjoyed many things in life including embroidering, especially dish towels, going to BINGO, playing many card games, growing plants, and sharing slips from them. Many people have plants that Vivian started. She loved visiting with people and in recent years could often be found wandering the halls of Eventide looking for people who wanted to visit. She loved having her children, grandchildren, great grandchildren, and her grand dog Molly, with her. Her favorite meal would definitely be a barbecue and coke from the Moorhead Dairy Queen. Above all Vivian loved the Lord and had a strong relationship with Him.

Vivian is survived by her loving husband of 66 years, Gary; and three children, Jolene Georgeson, Billings, MT, RaShell (Robert) Bye, Devils Lake, ND, and Bryan Paulson, Moorhead, MN; two grandchildren, Amanda Davis, Matthew (Jamie) Georgeson and Erek Bye; and great grandchildren, Skylar Amsk, Jordan Amsk, Bridger Georgeson, twins Cody & Carter Davis, Zayda Bye, Shelbi Lick, Ethyn Bye, Charlie Bye and Oliver Bye.

She was preceded in death by her parents; and siblings, Margaret Schmidt and Marvin (Sonny) Ohnstad.

Family would like to say a special thank you to all the staff at Eventide on Eighth and Ethos Hospice who took such great care of her.

A funeral service will be held on Wednesday, February 22, 2023, at 11:00 AM with a visitation one hour before the service at Wright Funeral Home, Moorhead, MN.

Final resting place will be in Riverside Cemetery, Moorhead, MN in the spring.
