Ted was born to Matt and Josephine Nameniuk on February 14th, 1935 in Billings County, North Dakota. Ted attended school in Belfield, ND, graduating with honors and lettering in basketball and football. In 1953, he enlisted in the U.S. Army and was trained in electronics repair. He was stationed at the Hanford Site in Washington as a radar technician and was promoted to sergeant prior to his discharge. Upon returning from the service, Ted attended college at Dickinson State University and worked commercial construction. In 1961, Ted married Janice Scheet at Little Flower Catholic Church in Rugby, ND, and returned to Dickinson where they made their home for 35 years. Ted continued to work in commercial construction for many years including owning his own company for 10 years. In 1985, Ted went to work for Dickinson High School as the Director of Grounds and Maintenance, finally retiring after 10 years in that position. In 1997, Ted and January moved to Moorhead, MN, and ultimately retired to Lake Park, MN. Ted enjoyed camping, boating and water skiing with his family and friends. In his later years, he enjoyed golf also. Ted is survived by his wife, January, his three sons, Daniel Shelly of Pierre, SD, David Sheryl of Fargo, ND, and Richard Anna of Mobile, AL, six grandchildren and one sister, Ina Latusek of Deadwood, SD. Ted was preceded in death by his parents and one brother, Matt.
