Walter S. Hanson

Walter S. Hanson, 92, Eventide Lutheran Home, Moorhead, MN, died there on Tuesday, May 26, 2009.Walter was born on September 24, 1916, to Nels and Laura Svenkeson Hanson on a farm in Clay County. He grew up and attended school in Riverside Country School. He was baptized, confirmed in his faith and a lifelong member of Concordia Lutheran Church. He had served as a trustee on the church board. Walt was a lifelong farmer who enjoyed farming, carpentry, fishing and traveling. But most importantly, Walt enjoyed spending time with his family and friends. He is survived by three nephews, Keith Kathy Hanson, Glyndon, MN, Neil Polly Hanson, Glyndon, MN, Les Hanson, Janesville, WI; three nieces, Cheryl Richard Ostlie, Northwood, ND, Loretta Arvid Nesdahl, Florida, and Faye Roger Wegscheid, Arizona; sister-in-law Regina Hanson, Moorhead, MN; and many great-nieces and nephews and friends.Walter was preceded in death by his parents; three brothers, Lawrence, Norman and Arthur Hanson; and one niece, Norma Kramlik.
