Wanda G. Regstad

Wanda G. Regstad, age 76, of Fargo, ND, passed away on Friday, July 31, 2020 at Sanford Medical Center, Fargo.

Wanda Gloria Nelson was born on September 2, 1943 in Portland, OR to Walter and Jeanette (Ness) Nelson. Wanda attended high school in Pelican Rapids and following graduation, she furthered her education at Interstate Business College in Fargo where she studied administrative assistant skills. Wanda met the love of her life, Gerald “Jerry” Regstad, and they were married on May 29, 1965 at Grove Lake Church, Pelican Rapids. She began working at St. Paul Insurance Company, Fargo, before transferring to Northern States Power as an administrative assistant. Wanda worked there for a few years until she was able to stay home and care for her two children, Stephen and Nicole. Once they were older, Wanda went back to work for Northern States Power and later worked for Messiah Evangelical Lutheran Church doing various tasks in the office. When Jerry retired in 1990, they started Multiple Dwelling Management (MDM) which they owned and operated until their retirement in 2005.

Wanda enjoyed spending peaceful time at home reading books and cuddling with her cats, Daisy and Petunia. She cherished spending time with her family and was a huge Elvis fan. Wanda loved anything to do with classic cars, especially taking them out for a drive. Wanda had a generous, caring heart and will be greatly missed by her loved ones.

Wanda is survived by her husband of 55 years, Jerry Regstad; two children, Stephen (Annie) Regstad and Nicole Regstad; sister, Barbara (Darrel) Jorgenson; many nieces and nephews; and her two special cats, Daisy and Petunia. Wanda was preceded in death by her parents.

The family would like to give a special thank you to Comfort Keepers Home Care and the staff at Sanford Medical Center for the loving care they gave to Wanda and her family.

In lieu of flowers, the family is requesting donations be made to Cats Cradle Shelter in Fargo, a local organization close to Wanda’s heart.

A memorial service will be held on Friday, August 7, 2020 at 11:00 A.M., with a visitation starting one hour before, at Messiah Evangelical Lutheran Church, Fargo. A live-stream of the service will be available on Wanda’s page at www.wrightfuneral.com starting at 11:00 A.M. Wanda’s final resting place will be at the Messiah Evangelical Lutheran Church Columbarium, Fargo. Masks will be expected, and social distancing will be observed.
