Warren James O’Day

Warren James O’Day, 67, of Moorhead, MN, passed away on Wednesday, November 28, 2018, in Sanford Health Hospital, Fargo, ND, with his daughters and brother by his side.  Warren was born on January 28, 1951, to Henry and Viola (Loftness) O’Day in Fargo.

Warren grew up in Moorhead and attended the MSU campus school where he graduated in 1969. Furthering his education, he obtained an Associate degree in refrigeration, heating, ventilation, and air conditioning from Northwest Technical College. Warren worked for the Fargo Housing Authority for thirty-five years as the Chief Mechanical Operations Engineer. He most recently worked at Sanford Health prior to his retirement.

Warren enjoyed many social activities including being a member of organizations such as the Western Minnesota Steam Threshers Reunion, Pyrotechnics Guild International, Sabin/ Elmwood Fire Department volunteer, Kurtz township board, and Hoff Lutheran Church council member.

Warren took pride in being able to help others from restoring antique items for people to enjoy to donating his time and resources to help others in need. He was committed to his participation in civic activities. He took overwhelming pride in putting on the 4^th of July fireworks show with the help of his daughters at MSUM in Moorhead—fulfilling one of his lifetime dreams.

His never failing love for his daughters, their families, and brother, Larry were evident to everyone he met. Although their daily lives may have not been always intertwined, it is apparent they were what filled his heart.

Warren is survived by his daughters, Renell (Ray) Welle, Erica (Peter) Urton, and Amber (Erik) Arvidson; grandchildren, Hunter, Coen, Carter, Gage, and Casen; and brother, Larry O’Day. He is preceded in death by his parents, Henry and Viola.

A memorial service will be held on Monday, December 3, 2018, at Wright Funeral Home, Moorhead, MN, at 1:00 p.m. with a visitation one hour prior to the service. A private family graveside service will be held.
