Wayne K. Lunneborg, 69, of Hawley, MN, died Saturday, November 20, 2004 at the Palliative Care Unit in MeritCare Hospital, Fargo.Wayne was born June 20, 1935 on a farm near Delamere, ND, to Herman and Navella Lunneborg. He attended and graduated from Milnor High School. He served in the Korean War from 1953 to 1955 as a high-speed radio operator. On June 1, 1957 he married Nancy Merchant at St. Thomas Catholic Church in Kent, MN. He served for 42 years as general manager of many grain elevators in North Dakota and Minnesota. He retired from the Hawley Co-op Elevator, Hawley, MN in June 1997, where they continued to make their home and spend their summers at Big Cormorant Lake.Wayne was an active member of St. Andrew's Catholic Church, charter member of the Hawley F.F.A, Milnor VFW and served on many church councils and other boards, including the Board of Directors for the North Dakota Grain Dealers Association. Wayne was an avid golfer and fisherman. He also enjoyed and was very proud of his eight grandchildren.Wayne is survived by his wife, Nancy; two sons, Tim Mary and Steve; two daughters, Shelley Mike Blome, and Lisa Aaron Bjorndahl; eight grandchildren: Jessica, Emily and Alex Lunneborg, Andrew and Kristin Blome, and Nick, Kate and Grace Bjorndahl; a brother, Myron Dolores; two sisters, Darlyne Lloyd Gibbon, and Sharon Tschakert. Wayne was preceded in death by his father, Herman, his mother, Navella, and an infant brother, Eugene.
