Wesley L. Helm Sr., 75, of Fargo, ND, died at Rosewood on Broadway on October 22, 2009. Wesley was born in Lincoln Valley, ND, to Ludwig and Vehona Kirschenman Helm on August 1, 1934. Wesley's Father owned several local businesses in Lincoln Valley and his is one of the few remaining buildings still standing in what is now a ghost town. Wesley attended school in Lincoln Valley, McClusky, Mercer and Turtle Lake ND. He entered and served in the United States Army from 1951 to 1954. After his discharge from the Army, Wesley attended Dakota Business College in Fargo ND, from 1954 to 1956 where he studied and earned his degree in accounting. Wesley and Pearl Cox were joined in marriage as part of a double wedding that included his brother Elroy and Pearl's best friend Helen Nance on September 23, 1955.Wesley was employed at Fairmont foods, and the Fargo Police Dept., before joining the Fargo Post Office. He also worked as an accountant at the Fargo Postal Credit Union during the later part of his Post office employment. He retired from the Post office after 30 years of service in 1990. Wesley was preceded in death by his parents and his bother Elroy Helm. He is survived by his wife Pearl and their three children, Kathy Bill Brandt, Roseau, MN; Vickey Scott Schneider, Moorhead, MN; Wesley Helm Jr., Fargo, ND; two brothers, Harold Norma Helm, Moorhead MN; Kenneth Arlyce Helm, Carthage, MO; a sister Violet Makeeff Stan Tomlinson, Turtle Lake, ND; nine grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren.
