William “Red” L. Robideau, Jr.

William L. “Red” Robideau, Jr., 72, of Roseville, MN, formerly, Dilworth, MN, died Sunday, June 9, 2013 in the Veteran’s Medical Center, Minneapolis, MN.

William Leroy Robideau, Jr. was born August 29, 1940, in Fargo, ND to William Sr. and Harriet Larson Robideau. He graduated from Dilworth High School in 1958. Red attended St. Thomas University before enlisting in the United States Navy. He served for four years. When he returned to Dilworth, Red worked for Coca Cola. On April 16, 1970, he married Karen Myhre in Aberdeen, SD. Red worked in sales in the health and beauty industry as well as industrial foods. He also worked for Senator Quentin Burdick and later for Senator Jocelyn Burdick. Red returned to sales in institutional foods before retiring when Karen’s health started failing.

Red enjoyed visiting with friends over coffee and entertaining at their annual Christmas party for over 30 years. Red and Karen spent their winters in Arizona, where he enjoyed playing golf. Red was a lifetime member of the VFW and American Legion. He was also a very active member of the Democratic Party. He was strong supporter of animal welfare, especially of the Bassett Buddies Rescue.

He is survived by his sons, James “Jim” Robideau, Florence, AZ, David Robideau, Northfield, MN and Brad Crystal Robideau, St. Paul, MN; daughter, Sara Peter McEnery, Plymouth, MN; grandchildren, Parker McEnery, Alex and Kellen Robideau; sister, Janice Gary Haaland, Moorhead, MN; brother, James Mardene Robideau, Redfield, SD; sister-in-law, Julie Myhre, Brooklyn Park, MN; and one special dog, Bud.

Red was preceded in death by his wife and parents.

Visitation: Thursday, June 13, 2013, from 5:00 – 7:00 p.m., with a prayer service at 6:30 p.m., in Wright Funeral Home, Moorhead, MN.

Funeral: Friday, June 14, 2013 at 10:00 a.m. in St. Elizabeth’s Catholic Church, Dilworth, MN.

Interment: Riverside Cemetery, Moorhead, MN.
