Willis L. Olson

Willis "Willie" Olson was born January 17, 1921, to Nels and Hannah Hanson Olson in Shell Lake Township, Detroit Lakes, MN. He grew up and attended school near Shell Lake. On June 14, 1945, he married Renilda Eitel in Sebeka, MN. Together they lived in Detroit Lakes for a short time before moving to Glyndon in 1951. They remained in Glyndon until recently moving to Emmanuel Nursing Home in Detroit Lakes. Willie enjoyed being outdoors, especially spending time in the woods and hunting. He will be dearly missed by those who knew him and will be remembered for his sharp wit and sense of humor. Willie is survived by his wife, Renilda, currently at Emmanuel Nursing Home, Detroit Lakes; sons, Wayne D. Corene Olson of Pelican Rapids, MN, Wendell W. Olson of rural Hawley, MN; daughter, Renae C. Olson of Barnesville, MN; grandchildren, Ryan Sarah Einerwold of Minneapolis, MN, Randy TK Einerwold of St. Paul, MN, Krista Don Wacker of Barnesville, MN, Karla Jason Weum Olson of Detroit Lakes, MN and Brett Olson of Pelican Rapids, MN; great-grandchildren, Zack and Zara Einerwold, Madison Olson, and Torie Wacker; sisters, Lillian Carlson, Harriet Davis and Elaine Skinner; and several nieces & nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Ernest and Glen Olson; sisters, Arlet Olson and Doris Tyree; a nephew, Rodney Olson; and a niece, Carolyn Skinner.
