Wilma Jean Harris was born March 26, 1931 In Emmetsburg, Iowa to Frank & Blanche Harris.
She had an older brother, William, and a younger brother Duane. A neighboring family was instrumental in her family's introduction to Christianity at a local church, where she made a commitment at age 9. She grew up on the farm, going through grade school and high school.
After graduating in 1948, Wilma attended North Central Bible College in Minneapolis for 2 years, where she met Lyle Larson. They were married on June 14, 1950. They welcomed 3 children, Melodee, Jim and David. Melodee married Sam Abraham, and they had 2 children, Isaac (now married to Christy) & Matthew. Sam passed away in 1997. Jim married Lori Steen, and they had Joshua (Jen), Joel (Meredith) & Jana (Hermie Banico). David married Kathy Dillinger and they had 3 children Christina, Kendra (Kenneth Schultz) & Jeremy. David also married Rena Viajedor and they had Micah, Malachi and Mandela. David passed away in 2022.
Lyle was a pastor and farmer and Wilma assisted in both roles. They lived in various towns, ministering through the Assembly of God churches: Dazey, ND; Garrison, ND; Regan, ND; Wolf Point, MT; Watertown, SD; Norwalk, CA; Oakes, ND; Alexandria, MN; Grand Forks, ND, wanting always to be within driving distance of the Valley City, ND farm which Lyle managed. Lyle died in Valley City April 18, 1985. Wilma was a relatively young widow and married Eddie Hehn 7 years later. They lived in Fargo together, with Wilma working at First Assembly Church for a short time, and also DeLendrecies, Herbergers and JoAnn Fabrics. Eddie died in 1999, leaving her widowed once again. Wilma became reconnected with a long time friend from North Central Bible College, Jacob Stroh. Jake was also widowed and they married in 2001, enjoying 16 years together with Jake's children, Cyndy, Glenn & Ron and their many grandchildren. Jake died in October of 2017. Wilma moved to New Perspective Senior Care Center in Fargo in July of 2021. She passed away peacefully February 16, 2025.
Wilma has several great grandchildren: Angelica DiCarlo, Miles, Leo and Frankie Larson, Jace and Blake Larson, Ethan Banico, Hailey, Charlotte and Grace Schultz. She also has 2 great- great grandchildren, Leo and Luca DiCarlo.
Wilma had varied interests and hobbies. She especially loved quilting, embroidery, scrapbooking, rubber stamping and cooking unique recipes for her family.
A memorial service for Wilma will be held on March 1st at 2:00 p.m. at Submerge Church, Bonanzaville, 1351 Main Ave W. West Fargo, ND.
