Yvonne M. Ohnstad

Yvonne M. Ohnstad, 53, of Moorhead, died Sunday, November 20, 2016, at Sanford Palliative Care, Fargo.
Yvonne Marie Ohnstad was born February 24, 1963, in Moorhead, MN, to Marvin and Irene Schaffer Ohnstad. She grew up in Moorhead and graduated from Moorhead High School in 1982. After high school, Yvonne worked various positions at St. Ansgaar’s Hospital in Moorhead, as a paraprofessional in the Glyndon school district, as well as several other sales associate, office and secretary jobs in the Fargo-Moorhead area. Her most recent job was as an optician at Lens Crafters.
On October 17, 1990, Yvonne was blessed with her first son, Nicholas, and on December 7, 1994, she was blessed again with her second son, Tyler. Nicholas and Tyler were the pride and joy of her world. She raised them mostly as a single mother, and she was extremely proud of them both.
Yvonne enjoyed spending time crafting and knitting. Always known to have a big heart, she was compassionate, caring, and warm, and her unique sense of humor and constant giggling will be missed by everyone she knew. Yvonne always knew just the right thing to say or do to brighten everyone’s day. She always took great pride in her stylish appearance, especially her hair.
Yvonne is survived by her mother, Irene Ohnstad, of Moorhead; her sons, Nicholas Erickson and Tyler Erickson, both of Fargo-Moorhead; her brother, David Terisa Ohnstad, of Durbin, ND; her sister, Marvelyn Roger Gilbertson, of Tea, SD; her nieces and nephews, Kaylee, Kara, and Cole; and her great-nieces and nephews, Jaiden, Brielle, and Justin. She was preceded in death by her grandparents and her father.
