Barbara A. Brecke

Barbara A. Brecke was born January 3, 1937 in Minneapolis, MN to Arnold and Bernice Brecke.

Barbara passed away unexpectedly in her home on Tuesday, December 18, 2018. Barbara was a woman of style and grace.  She lived a very full and active life up to the very moment she passed.  She spent her entire lifetime giving of herself to others, while deeply touching and affecting the lives of so many people.

Barbara had a long career in the field of human services.  Her most recent contribution to this world was teaching elementary children literacy at McKinley Elementary School in Fargo.

Preceded in death by her parents and sister, Marilyn Corcoran, she will be greatly missed by her three daughters, Kathy (Mark) Henry, Kris (Marv) Voltin, and Mary (Jeff) Burke.  Barbara’s legacy will live on through her eight grandsons:  Nick (Leah) Henry, Chris (Gabby) Henry, Jesse Henry, Sam and Jack Charon, Zach, Dylan and Cole Burke, and two great-grandsons, Owen and Crosby Henry.  In addition, Barbara’s loss will be shared by sisters-in-law, brothers-in-law, many nieces and nephews and many, many dear friends.

Visitation 5-7 PM followed by a memorial service at 7 PM, on Friday, January 4, 2019 at Wright Funeral Home, Moorhead, MN.

There will be a separate memorial burial ceremony and celebration of life later this spring in Minneapolis, MN.

In lieu of flowers, memorials preferred to the family of Barbara, to be distributed to the causes closest to her heart.
