Charlotte H. Hendrickson, age 87, of Lake Park, MN, died Tuesday, January 24, 2012, in Hawley Senior Living under the care of Hospice of the Red River Valley and Hawley Senior Living with her family by her side.Charlotte Harriet Anderson was born on October 1, 1924, to Oscar and Molly Olson Anderson in Eglon Township where she grew up and attended school until the fourth grade when her family moved to Twin Valley where she attended school until she was a junior. In her younger years, Charlotte worked as a waitress. On August 20, 1944, she married Kermit Hendrickson in the parsonage in Twin Valley, MN. Together they farmed as she enjoyed gardening, canning and helping milk cows. Kermit died on December 30, 1997. Charlotte was active in many activities including, Lake Park Lutheran Church Quilters and Ladies Aide, Tops and Senior Club.Charlotte also enjoyed baking and made the best buns. While at Hawley Senior Living, she enjoyed playing bingo, sing-along, and bean bag toss as well as visiting with the staff and residents. Charlotte also enjoyed traveling. She traveled to Duluth, Medora, Tacoma, WA, Las Vegas, NV, Florida, Arizona the Hawaiian Islands, Norway, Sweden, Denmark as well as taking cruises to Alaska and the Bahamas. Most importantly, she enjoyed spending time with her children and grandchildren and made it her top priority to make it to all her grandchildren's events. Charlotte also enjoyed the annual family reunion where she said the table prayer in Norwegian. Blessed be the memory of Charlotte. She will be missed dearly by her family and friends. She is survived by five sons, Ronald Mary of Lake Park, MN, Darwin Cindy of Frazee, MN, Owen of Lake Park, MN, Kevin Ruth of Lake Park, MN, and Duane "Lars" of Lake Park, MN; three daughters, Ilo Hendrickson of Detroit Lakes, MN, Julie Randy Boyer of Moorhead, MN and Darla Ken Maves of Frazee, MN; eight grandchildren, three step grandchildren, seven great-grandchildren, six step great-grandchildren, sister-in-law, Ruth Anderson of Twin Valley, MN as well as several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband; brother, Morris Anderson; sisters, Ruby Evanson and Ardis Selseth and sister-in-law, Alice Hendrickson and three great-grandchildren.In lieu of flowers, memorials are preferred to Hospice of the Red River Valley or Lake Park Lutheran Church Quilters.
