Eli N. Johnson, 19, of Moorhead, MN, passed away on September 11, 2017.
Eli Nathan Johnson was born January 18, 1998, to Nate and Annie Pawlik Johnson. He grew up in Moorhead and graduated from Moorhead High School in 2016.
As a kid, Eli was as active as you could be. At the age of three, he was already hitting the outdoor rinks with his dad and his passion for sports and the outdoors only grew from there. There wasn’t a sport that Eli didn’t try, and he was naturally good at them all, but hockey and baseball took a special hold of him. He made the high school varsity team in both sports as a sophomore and later captained them, as well as captaining the Moorhead Blues Legion baseball team. After graduating he went on to attend Concordia College and played for the Cobber baseball team. He loved hanging out with friends and his blue eyes and bright smile lit up the room. He will be missed by all who knew him.
To help celebrate Eli’s life, the family would love for everyone to come in their favorite Cobber, Spud, or Blues Baseball gear, or Eli’s favorite color, baby blue. Eli was known for his welcoming spirit, infectious smile and his phrase known to many, “Come One Come All”.
Eli is survived by his parents; amazing sister, Madeline; grandparents, Bill and Marlys Johnson and Dorothy Pawlik, and numerous aunts, uncles and cousins.
He was preceded in death by his grandfather, George Pawlik.
In lieu of flowers, gifts in honor of Eli can be made to Concordia College Athletics and sent to:
