Ernest “Ernie” Olson

Ernest “Ernie” Olson, age 81, of Moorhead, MN passed away peacefully March 3, 2021 with family and under the care of Hospice of the Red River Valley.

Ernest Chris Olson was born on August 13, 1939 in Fargo, ND to Percy and Leone Olson. After graduating from Fargo High School in 1957, Ernie worked for his grandfather doing construction. He then worked at Interstate Duplicating Service, Silverline Boats and ran their in-plant print shop, and Associated Arts. Ernie then worked for Barrett Transport for 29 years in their print shop. After the company was sold in 1999, Ernie started CopyKat Printing in Moorhead.

Ernie was an amazing archer for many years and made life long friends along the way.  He enjoyed father-son tournament weekends. He also spent his free time playing darts, dabbled in woodworking, and enjoyed playing on computers. He was loved by all whether you just met him or knew him for life.

Ernie is survived by his sons, Tom (Susie) Olson, Todd (Audrey) Schroeder and Troy Schroeder; grandchildren, Ezra Olson, Eli Olson, Zoya Richardson, Bella Dahl, Sydni Schroeder, Braylee Schroeder; 7 great-grandchildren; two sisters, Susan (Jim) Richter and Patty (Gene) Miller; and many nieces and nephews.

Ernie was preceded in death by his parents, Percy and Leone; and his loving wife, Gloria Olson.

A public visitation will be held on Saturday, March 13, 2021 from 4:00 to 6:00 P.M. at Wright Funeral Home in Moorhead. An intimate service will be held starting at 6:00 P.M.   Friends and family are also welcome to join via livestream.

In lieu of memorials, donations made to Hospice of the Red River Valley are preferred.
