Herb Reimer

Herb Reimer, 82, Detroit Lakes, MN, died on Wednesday, November 13, 2019, in Sanford Health Care, Fargo, ND after a recent fall at home.
Herbert David Reimer was born on October 6, 1937 in Fargo, ND to David and Ruth (Barnes) Reimer. He grew up in Fargo, graduating from Fargo Central High School. He graduated from N.D.S.U with a degree in Civil Engineering and went to work for the city of Fargo before being hired by the city of Moorhead, where he served as the City Engineer for many years, retiring in 2000.
Herb married Mary Jo Meath on October 18, 1958 at St. Anthony of Padua Catholic Church in Fargo, where they lived for a time before moving to Moorhead. Herb and Mary Jo moved full time to their home on Fox Lake near Detroit Lakes, MN in 1992.
Herb loved his family, and enjoyed the lakes, hunting, pontooning, skiing, and traveling to Florida in the winter. He was a devout Catholic and loved his church. Herb had a gentle way with children & animals and they were always drawn to him.
He is survived by his children, David (Arlene) Reimer, International Falls, MN, Cindy (Steve) Magnuson, Fargo, ND, and Stephen (Carrie) Reimer, Powell, WY; sister Caroline Craig, Bonita Springs, FL; eight grandchildren Matthew Schmidt, Aaron Bolter, Becky Reimer, Jeremy Bolter, Marissa Sweeney, Katie Magnuson, Kyle Reimer, and Cassidy Reimer; nine great-grandchildren and many beloved nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his loving wife, Mary Jo; an infant son Francis Joseph; and his siblings Mary Kay, Bob, RuthAnn, Jane, Richard and Don.
Visitation: Monday, November 18, 2019, from 5:00 P.M. until 6:30 P.M., with a prayer service at 6:30, in Wright Funeral Home, Moorhead, MN.
Funeral: Tuesday, November 19, 2019, at noon in Holy Rosary Catholic Church, Detroit Lakes, MN, There will also be visitation one hour prior to the service.
Interment: Holy Rosary Catholic Cemetery, Detroit Lakes, MN.
